So after 4 days of R&R, I was not slacking off, merely resting my left leg. However I have realized the sprain will take longer to heal than just a few days. Today I felt well enough to go for a swim, thanks to my good friend Kerem, who totally motivated me by dragging me out there.
We had to share a lane with a couple of frogger kids, who literally swam like frogs, and fast ones too! Their mom was coaching them for what seemed like an Iron Man, given the Hitler attitude she had barking orders at them. I was somewhat intimidated by her, but I figured I had Kerem around to get my back! ;)
This time I started without a warm up and instead used my training fins to do 44 laps (1/2 mile). These actually went surprisingly well, and I did not feel very tired. The next set of 44 laps (1/2 mile), I did without the fins, and I actually was doing fairly well with my legs. I have slowly started to get my rotation and streamlining my body more naturally, however I need some guidance in getting it more regular.
I will have to look into maybe getting a swim coach to help me one-on-one for a few sessions to get my technique right. I do have the stamina training nailed down fairly well for now, so swimming the mile is no longer a problem, swimming through it fast enough is now the new challenge! (Never imagined the day I would be writing this!!)
If any of you guys/gals have any feedback/suggestions....I am all ears (or eyes)! ;)
